Grapes, and nothing else. That has always been the shared conviction of the two kindergarten friends Davide and Marco. When the fermentation of their first harvest didn't quite work out as expected, grandma Antonia helped out: With an ancient traditional ritual she drove away the so-called "La'mmidia" - which translates to "envy" or "evil eye" in the dialect of Abbruzzo. And lo and behold, fermentation got underway, and now this quasi-magical practice is a fixed part of the harvest. And it has also given the winery its name: Lammidia.

Abbruzzo, Italy

Abbruzzo is not exactly the star among Italian wine regions. More like the underdog that has been overlooked for far too long. For a very long time, people have been producing wine on a grand scale here and have overlooked true potential of the region. But actually, this region south of the Marche on Italy's Adriatic coast is in fact a beautiful jewel to be explored! Montepulciano d'Abbruzzo is the big red wine star in Abbruzzo, but Trebbiano d'Abbruzzo and Pecorino also grow quite wonderfully here. These are also the 3 grape varieties with which Lammidia best show their skills!
