Cathi's story begins in South Austria, in a small village called Stabenthein (I wonder if it's a coincidence that that's her own name). She then went to Vienna as a sommelière, and later followed her love to nearby Burgenland. Now she's in charge of sales at Claus Preisinger (and sometimes the entire store). And since 2020 she has been tending her Blaufränkisch vineyard in Neusiedl am See. After a short road trip to the more southern Pamhagen, Cathi makes her Kékfrankos there. Winemaker on a detour - tastes ke(c)k!

Not far from Vienna, a fabulously diverse world unfolds in the east of Austria. From the steppe lakes, to the endless expanses of the Pannonian Plain, to the colorful vineyards spread across Burgenland. In the northeast lies the wine-growing region of Neusiedlersee. Yep, here the name says it all. The huge steppe lake has an incredible influence on the climate in the region, it can get quite hot! The landscape here is mostly just a bit hilly and on nice days you can see as far as Hungary.
