"Making natural wines as a couple is much nicer than doing it alone." That's what Amós Bañeres and Alex Ruiz thought when they met in 2014. Their common goal: wines that show their homeland - without additives, without frills and with a lot of patience in the cellar. Their biodynamic plots in Catalonia primarily produce Xarel-lo from old vines, fermented spontaneously and unfiltered to capture the terroir in its purest form. The wines bear names such as "Lluerna" (firefly) or "Pregadéu" (praying mantis) - a tribute to the insects and biodiversity of their vineyards. Strong in character, lively and just the way they like to drink themselves.

Catalonia, Spain

Far removed from the discussion of becoming a separate state, Catalonia is home to an incredibly diverse (and very independent 😉) world of wine. On the Mediterranean coast, the grapes ripen in a warm, Mediterranean climate. In the hills to the north, it is cooler, a fresh breeze blows and the climate is more sub-alpine. What does this mean for Catalonia's winegrowers? An incredible range of wines can be produced here. Heavy red wines meet elegant cavas and everything in between. Els Vinyerons are located in Penedès, between the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees. A Mediterranean climate with warm days and cool nights meets limestone and clay soils - perfect for fresh, mineral wines. The region is famous for Xarel-lo and elegant sparkling wines. What a beautiful home for the natural wines of Els Vinyerons!
