We are located in Saale Unstrut, not far from our home city of Berlin. This is where Zarathustra Wines is based: named after a spirit who doesn't fool himself and likes to question things. And that's exactly how winemaker Jakob works. Jakob does one thing, and he has perfected it: sparkling wine. Really good sparkling wine. Jakob works in the old-school way with a basket press. With a lot of patience, a lot of manual labor, and a clear focus, he creates sparkling wines that leave a lasting impression. Time plays a major role, both in the barrel and in the bottle. You can taste that from the very first sip.

Saale-Unstrut, Germany

Saale Unstrut is Germany's northernmost quality wine-growing region. It sounds cool. And sometimes it is. And that's exactly what makes it so appealing. Between steep shell limestone slopes, old dry stone walls, and a wealth of history, wines with excitement and freshness are produced here. The region stretches along the Saale and Unstrut rivers through Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. Small plots, a lot of manual labor, and a good dose of pioneering spirit characterize the region.
