Three of a kind
The Schödl Family: these are the siblings Viktoria, Mathias and Leonhard. Together, the three of them run a small winery in Austria's Weinviertel region. They share a penchant for minimalism, a connection with nature and, above all, a love of wine. With their winery, they have created a place where tradition meets technology, old meets new. In addition to healthy grapes, wild herbs and chamomile varieties grow in the vineyards, providing a home for butterflies and ladybugs. The wines reflect all this and more: they are wild, pure, fresh and yes - have the most beautiful labels.
Weinviertel, Austria
It is almost impossible to describe the Weinviertel in a short text. The wine region is huge, and the climate, the soils and the grape varieties that thrive in the different villages are at least as varied. Where the primordial sea once reigned supreme, all that remains now are oyster reefs, mussels and limestone. The rain from winter and spring is stored meters deep and released drop by drop to the vines. But don't be fooled - a wine "mountain" here is at most a beautifully gentle hill. The dry Pannonian climate is particularly noticeable in the Schödl Family vineyards: The berries are fully ripe with good spice and high acidity.
